We try to go to the lake here a few times a week and usually we get a kayak or two. We took Jordan and he and Jer shared a kayak and Isadora and I shared a one person kayak. Izze wanted to be with Jordan (naturally) and we pulled our kayaks together and izze was handed off into their kayak. We paddled to a beach so Jeremy could fix my vest and when they were getting back in ,their kayak flipped and izze fell out. She flipped to her back and neither of these boys think to pull her up!!! I'm yelling "pull her out!!!!" finally they do and she only wants me. I paddle back to them and pull her in my kayak. We had to paddle about 30 more minutes to get back, she was freezing and ready to go back. So... Bummer. It'll probably be a while before she us brave enough to kayak again...

Our good friends who have a daughter 6 months older than Iz and were expecting again in August had a little surprise and ended up having an emergency c-section on the 18th. Becca, who was planning a home birth with a midwife got very sick and ended up in the ER. They ended up giving the baby steroids to help her lungs to grow and delivering her early that morning. Becca is doing better, baby girl is still in the NICU. They don't have a name and weren't really prepared. They just started this session of summer camps they run. Needless to say, I'm very excited for them. Also... Izze's recital... Update later.

A little part of me wants to put Izze's hair in sponge rollers for her pictures and recital. Is that crazy, tacky, trashy, awesome, lame, fill in the blank________? I'd have to go buy some, but back when I was little in dance, sponge rollers were the standard. On the same note so was blue eyeshadow, pink blush, red lipstick and super high ratted bangs. Recently, slicked hair in a tight bun was in, more recently, slicked into a very straight low pony tail. Just wondering if the curl has come full circle. Plus... Uh.... She's 2 and a half... Dude. So?! Spongers?

Call me a nerd or a sap for my state... But I'm so proud everytime There are Utahns on SYTYCD. I'm proud of them, I'm proudvof dance in Utah and I'm proud of the impact it has on my dance studio. There are two Utahns this time: Randi and Brandon. I actually knew Randi growing up. Our studios were like sister studios and they always did camps/ workshops/ intensives together. We also went to San Francisco to perform at a 49er's half time with her studio. She was always a little bit more of a performer than kids in our age group. I hope she does well. Today I have comp team auditions for our youngest two teams... I'm doing it ALONE!!! Wish me luck!

I don't think I mentioned we ended up at a new doctor when Izze was sick last week.

He was shocked her last doctor never followed up with us after we'd been three times without seeing her. Also, he was shocked she hasn't been tested for allergies through all this. He thought, she may be exposed to dairy or eggs at school.

So she was tested and she's not allergic to the most common allergens.

Back to not having an answer. But we have another appointment next week. Maybe we can get some help with her sleep issues too. I am about to crack and buy a cage...

Coffee anyone?

Peek-a-boo

I'm so grateful for coffee on mornings like this one and yesterday. Since we moved, Izze has been stoked on the idea of her own room and a toy room. She doesn't fight going to bed, but once she's asleep the crazy arises! She wakes up about every 45 minutes to an hour crying for me. When I go in her room, she doesn't ask to come in my bed, but for me to stay with her in her room. That's a plus. Then as the night goes on she cries, "but you're my friend, Mommy!" "I don't want to be alone!" It's a little heartwrenching, but I seriously can't keep walking in there every hour just to tickle her back until she's asleep again. Our rule is, if the sun is up, you can come in mommy's bed to snuggle. Jeremy and I are getting a little exhausted. I made a chart with smileys for no tears at night and one with suns for waking up in her own bed, when she fills it she gets the Plex keytar. But at 3:45 she doesn't comprehend that. Any suggestions?!

In other news Izze wears undies about 95% of the time. She also has an imaginary, shape shifting, gender bending friend named Alex. Today HE is a very tiny brown dog. Yesterday a girl just Izze's size with pink hair. This is an only child thing, maybe?! She's so awesome. Also. Our phase of homes was not built with the fiberoptic connection... No free Internet. But I'm working on getting hooked up, no worries.

I love Izze like a mama elephant.

There is probably nothing cuter than when I look at Izze and she just grins. She has the sweetest cheesiest grin and I love it. She did it first thing when she woke up this morning. I love being her mama. I can't wait to update all about how much she's grown and how awesome she is these days. With pictures of course!!!

So... I decided not to sign up with a new Internet service... seeing as how we're moving in a few weeks. The area where we're moving has free fiber optic connections in each house (don't quote me on that, but it does get free Internet).

So I'm at the library, while Izze's at school.

We're meeting up for a playdate at 4:00. I'm kind of stoked. It'll be nice to have Izze run around with someone around her age while I get in some social time.

K. We're moving on the 15th of May. We signed a 12 month lease on a townhome and if we like it and decide to buy it, the years worth of rent (save a few hundies) will be put towards the purchase of it. I don't think we'll end up doing that... but it's an option.

I'll update more often once we move. This move is a great thing. The Parkin family is terrific. :D

I'll try and update with pictures from our playdate tomorrow.

I miss you all too.

It's true, you've all probably forgotten me by now. Low down. We went to Portland. I lost my voice. Izze had the D's in the Uhaul on the way there. I helped move Jessica in. I flew home. Day one of being back my landlord asked me if we'd move out. Her creepy son (recall squeaky bed right above izze's) got that girl pregnant, so she moved in with her seven year old daughter. I guess they don't us to move but knew we were considering moving further west... AKA Mormonland/ The Burbs. So now we know... We're moving. Seriously 2009 has been a big ball of stress. I've started a small savings for Disney that we were considering using to go to Overseas somewhere instead (saving more of course). I'm now spending it on a Uhaul and moving. It was small but I'll have to start over. Well... I might not have to touch it. We'll see. Jordan is still in jail. Portland was beautiful. Izze is a totally amazing kid. So smart, so polite... Such a handful. I'm somehow sunburned in a crescent shape on my face. Hmmm.

Disregard.

Izze was really good today. Still not eating like I'd like her too. Still down a pound. She ate orange rolls and had strawberry lime Jones soda. I had to fond something with carbonation no caffiene and super sweet tasting. Izze loved it!! Her bloodsugar was really low, so I had to get it up. This was all recommended by her doctor... I had to scoop out her poop into a specimen cup... Ew. So here's the debate... Should I take Izze to art class and preschool tomorrow? I'm thinking of taking her to art class and seeing how she is there before taking her to school. Am I crazy?!? I just want her to be back to normal. And I don't want her just sitting at home if she'll be cool at school. Would you hold out? I know she's going to miss school next week on Tuesday and she missed on Thursday... So? Whatwouldyado?
